Celebrating One Year of Diaryofafloppingfish.com and a few announcements

Today marks the one-year official anniversary of Diaryofafloppingfish.com. I’ve got some exciting things in store for this year and many thoughts in the works so I’m going to take this time to celebrate how far this website has come and talk about a few new things.

This website was started in 2016, but in that time has undergone many different transformations. I learned how to use WordPress while I was building this site so at times it did not look so great, and even still there are things that I cannot seem to get to work the way I want to. On the bright side, it’s just like forgetting the words of your own song, no one knows what is missing when it’s not there. What Diaryofafloppingfish.com represents now is a little different than what it originally started as. Over time, I healed and became able to speak more about what I have experienced and that is when I began writing more blog posts rather than research articles.

I began writing research articles because it was a way for me to talk about things that have affected me without chancing offending anyone or having to be personal. I have always written great research articles, and in an effort to understand what I experience, I did a lot of research. Rather than doing all that research in vain, I just decided to put it up on the blog for the world to see. With that decision Diary Of A Flopping Fish became a website with a mission to help those who are also healing from trauma and provide a light at the end of the tunnel for those still struggling to get to safety.

Much of the struggle to bring this dream to a reality has been a lack of funding, and as much as I want to keep my website free so that those who need it can enjoy the resources, I cannot keep it entirely free if I am going to continue to put in the effort it needs. With that said, I have made the decision to start a subscription newsletter in the near future that will provide insight on what I do with the rest of my day to promote healing. I will talk about my garden, share my own original (mostly) healthy recipes, as well as my many art projects. The research articles, useful information, and other aspects of Diary of a flopping Fish will always remain free so that people who need the information can always access it.

In addition to offering a new subscription newsletter, I will also be selling Diary of a Flopping fish merch sometime in the future. I don’t know when I will roll this out, so stay tuned. There is a lot of planning that has to go into selling physical objects, so this may happen closer to the end of 2024.

There are many other ideas rolling around in my brain, but I am still a one-woman army, so I am only going to announce two right now. I look forward to bringing more amazing content to everyone in the near future.

    1. Thank you and thanks for taking the time to check out this article. We are either going to age with time or let time age us.
